Emergency Information for Tenants

Contact the tradesperson(s) and/or individuals noted on the front pages of their tenancy agreement prior to contacting any other tradesperson for the repair.

What constitutes an Emergency?

For residential tenants during the Christmas/New Year period, in the event of an emergency repair, the procedure will be the same as those that apply outside business hours including on a Sunday or on a public holiday. That is, if an emergency repair as detailed in the residential tenancy legislation (eg. burst water service, gas leak, failure of electricity gas or water supply to the property etc.) is required, a tenant would first need to make a reasonable attempt to contact the tradesperson(s) and/or individuals noted on the front pages of their tenancy agreement prior to contacting any other tradesperson for the repair
